THE LABELO GUIDE
Design and print labels in your browser
Labelo is local-first label design software for A4 sheets, US Letter sheets and label rolls. Create artwork, merge spreadsheet data and generate exact-size PDFs in your browser.
No account or installation is required. Your designs stay in this browser profile on this device. You can optionally install Labelo as a web app and keep using it offline after its first successful online load.
Open the label studioWhat can I design?
Add text, PNG/JPEG images, shapes, vector drawings, QR codes, Code 128 and EAN-13 barcodes. Edit text directly on the canvas or in the properties panel. Create reusable product or address tables in the full-page table workspace, or import CSV; find saved tables under My projects → Tables. Applying a table copies its data into the label. Select, group, resize, rotate, align and arrange objects, with undo and redo.
Three bundled DejaVu font families provide regular, bold, italic and bold italic styles. Current print fonts support Latin text and ₹. Unsupported characters and unimplemented Indic/Arabic shaping are blocked before export.
Which labels and printers are supported?
Choose from 28 common sheet and roll layouts, including circular sheets, or enter custom dimensions, margins, rows, columns and gaps. Layouts use generic size and grid names, with one choice per common format. Custom layouts support exact measurements, including inch-based stock. A4 and metric sizes appear first; US Letter is also available.
Roll setup covers direct thermal, ribbon/thermal transfer and inkjet media. Configure multiple labels across, liner width, across/feed gaps and driver-managed rows or PDF strips. Match the stock and driver to your actual printer; generic layouts are not manufacturer-certified templates.
Read the label printing and calibration guide.
How do I print labels?
Choose Print labels, check quantity and layout, then use Print now or download the PDF. Print at Actual size / 100%, on matching paper, with one printer copy and single-sided printing. Test alignment before using label stock.
Can I print different data on each label?
Yes. Create and edit a table directly in Batch data, or import a UTF-8 CSV, then use Insert field to link a column to text or barcode data. Preview resolved values before printing. Optional per-record quantities, skipped records and incrementing serial numbers are supported.
Does Labelo need a backend or account?
No. Designs, images, CSV data, organization, settings and history are stored locally. Supported browsers use SQLite in origin-private storage; a preserved IndexedDB compatibility path is available. The application does not upload designs to an account service.
Do I have to install the app?
No. Installation is optional. A normal browser tab supports editing, PDF export and offline use after the app finishes caching. Browser storage can still be cleared or evicted; keep backups of important labels.
How do I back up my designs?
Export an editable .labelo file, a ZIP of labels, or a complete SQLite workspace snapshot through Export & backup. Reviewed imports create independent copies. Read about storage, backup and recovery.
Can Labelo guarantee perfect physical printing?
No browser app can eliminate driver scaling, sensing errors, manufacturing tolerances or mechanical feed variation. Labelo checks document geometry and content, but your printer and stock need a measured calibration print.
